Former Gov. Angus King to be keynote speaker at Cheshire County Democrat’s annual Pasta and Politics dinner.
Former Maine Governor Angus King will be the featured speaker at Saturday’s Cheshire County Democrat’s Pasta and Politics Dinner and Reception. King, an Independent, served two terms as Governor of Maine from 1995 to 2003. In 2000 King endorsed George Bush. Two weeks ago King endorsed Sen. Barack Obama in the 2008 Presidential election, stating that the Illinois Democrat “…leads with hope and not through fear.”
Gov. Jeanne Shaheen and Congressman Paul Hodes will also be speaking at the dinner and will be attending the reception beforehand. Many other noted local democratic candidates will be attending the event.
The fundraising event gives the opportunity for Democrats and other like minded individuals to gather for good food and company and to raise money in support of local Democratic candidates.
