The Keene City Democrats are celebrating Labor Day in Cheshire County and
we are planning to have lots of fun with fellow Democrats. Please join us!
WHEN: Monday, September 1, from 12 noon to 4 p.m.
WHERE: Otterbrook Dam off of Route 9.
Suggested donation $5. (The event costs the Keene City Democrats at least
$65 plus $1 per person so any donation is appreciated to keep our treasury
solvent) Children are free.
Bring your lawn chairs and frisbees, wiffle balls, badminton, horseshoes, swimsuits,
bocce, whatever.
Please also bring a potluck dish with you to share with all.
If your last name begins with A-F please bring a salad;
if your name begins with G-O, please bring a dessert; and
if your name begins with P-Z, please bring a casserole.
We encourage you to bring your own plates, eating utensils, and napkins though we will have some back up supplies. We will supply drinks.

- Come hear what Gov. Jeanne Shaheen and other top Democratic Senate contenders have to say about their races and the future of the Democratic Party. CCD Rented a Big Screen TV for Both Events.

The event starts at 9:00pm in the Night Owl Cafe. There will be free soda and popcorn!
Barack is set to take the stage at 10:00pm. Don't miss this opportunity to see Barack Obama deliver one of the most historic speeches of our time.

Also, representatives from the Jeanne Shaheen for U.S. Senate campaign and Molly Kelly for NH State Senate will be at the event.

CHESHIRE COUNTY DEMOCRATS ANNUAL SPAGHETTI DINNER
Cheshire County Democrats Annual Spaghetti Dinner will be held this year on Saturday, October 4th at Keene State College.
The program will include presentation of the annual Russell Award.
The guest speaker will be announced after the National Democratic Convention next week.
$25 for the dinner (6:30 - 9:00pm in The Mabel Brown Room)
$100 for the reception in the Mountainview Room (5:30-6:25 pm) this price includes dinner.
Ticket sales will start soon.

MONDAY night: Michelle Obama headlines, other speakers, tribute to Ted Kennedy
TUESDAY night: Sen. Hillary Clinton speaks on the 88th Anniversary of women's right to vote.
WEDNESDAY night: New Hampshire's own Gov. Jeanne Shaheen will be addressing the convention (there will be refreshments 6pm)
THURSDAY night: Sen. Barack Obama speaks on the 45 Anniversary of M.L. Kings "I have a dream" speech. (We may have a get together that night at CCD stay tuned)
We will have a HDTV playing the convention the whole week!

I am writing to invite you to our Barbecue for change that will be occurring on the eve of the Convention. I would love to see as many Barack Obama supporters as possible enjoying themselves before all of the commotion and excitement of the election season really starts! Please try to make it out. I think it will be great fun. Here are the details for the event:
WHEN: Sunday, August 24, 2008 , 3:00 pm
WHERE: The Pine Shelter at Otter Brook Dam Park, Keene, NH 03431
The event will be a pot luck, so we are asking people to pitch in with food and supplies.
Directions:
From Downtown Keene follow Washington Street to Route 9, which will be a ramp that veers right. Follow Rt 9. There will be signs for Otter Brook Dam Park on the right hand side of the road. Follow the road to Otter Brook Dam. You will have to go through a fee station, the fees have been pre-paid so there should not be a problem. Follow the Entrance Road across Otter Brook Bridge and then take a left onto a gravel road. The Pine Shelter will be on this gravel road.
